Why not now…

A common question I have gotten lately is, how am I doing? Or what have I been up to?

The last couple months have been a time of reflection, change, and new opportunities. I’ve done some consulting work, a lot of interviews, soul searching and, to be completely honest, napping. Because as a toddler-parent, when do we get the beautiful gift of an afternoon nap anymore? Hardly ever.

Leaving something familiar is never easy—and leaving a career that morphed into a large part of my self-identity has created more questions than answers. Many questions that I am still exploring.

But in the midst of that exploration, something I didn’t expect emerged and it seems fitting to announce this on International Women’s Day…

I am completely delighted to announce the launch of Finessed Ink Tattoo Clinic in partnership with Parame Services Inc—two female-founded businesses.

I’ve been exposed to investing and involved in various investment opportunities over the years, in large part due to my Dad’s career. It has given me a different perspective as an employee, an investor, and now as a co-founder.

My long-time friend, Amy Howe, is a driven, inspirational and talented artist —with more than 10 years experience in hair restoration and paramedical tattooing. After many years refining her skills working within other clinics, it was time to build something of her own.

I am honoured to support her vision and industry expertise, layer in my skillsets, and launch these new businesses together.

Finessed Ink is a tattoo clinic dedicated to helping people reclaim confidence in their own skin. Amy specializes in Scalp micropigmentation (SMP), scar camouflage, & fine-line tattoos — to highlight a few! Her work isn’t just art—it’s transformation, healing, and empowerment.

Working with Amy to bring Finessed Ink to life has been inspiring and a labour of love — for us both. It’s been a fast-paced couple of months, finalizing and executing on the vision. This plan has been in the works for a while, but having a bit of extra free time on my hands has definitely helped us execute and definitely helped with my sanity.

We are excited to say the clinic is open! But it’s just the beginning.

Launching Finessed Ink seemed like a no-brainer, but our vision expands beyond setting a foundation for Amy to build a successful business. We believe there is opportunity to build a community and investment engine that focuses on the personal-care services space. The personal-care services market is filled with exceptionally talented individuals, but the artists themselves don’t necessarily realize the success in the market.

Artists are faced with the challenge of paying the lion’s share of their earnings to a clinic, or taking the leap to “go out on their own”, with little to no capital or business savvy. These emerging artist-led businesses lack support to navigate launching and maintaining a business. As a result, they struggle to keep their doors open.

So, Amy and I have founded Parame Services Inc—a community, and a consulting and investment company, created to help artists turn their talent into thriving businesses. In other industries, like tech, there are networks, communities, and more importantly, established investment avenues. Parame Services aims to build that avenue for the personal care services space. It isn’t a loan. There are banks for that. Parame is a community of likeminded individuals, that also offers artists capital and a framework to launch and scale their business.

We have placed the bulk of our focus on opening the Finessed Ink Clinic, but we will share more on Parame Services soon.

For now, show us some love through Finessed Ink. Check out the website to learn more about the services and find the right one for you.

Support local, support artists, and most importantly, support women!
